"CoComelon Live in London: A Magical Day Out That’ll Have Your Little Ones Singing All the Way Home"

From the moment we nudged open the glass doors of St. Martin’s Theatre, that gently hushed hum of anticipation gave way to an unmistakable fizz—like lifting the lid of a glittering treasure chest. Parents balancing toddlers, curious toddlers on wobbly legs, and that little buzz of excitement in the air set the stage.
The show itself is delightfully simple. It was pure, unadulterated joy. Characters like Ms. Appleberry, JJ, Cody, Nina, and Cece appear with wide-eyed reassurance, beckoning children as familiarly as bedtime stories. And yes—the songs are the same ones you know: “Wheels on the Bus,” “If You’re Happy and You Know It,” “Animal Dance.” Only this time, they’re gloriously amplified in the West End.
For many toddlers, this may very well be their first theatre experience—an introduction to that magical realm where the stage is alive and they are invited to be part of it. It’s short—just over an hour, which is a blessing when attention spans are tiny and energy levels mighty high.
As the music began, little people in the audience felt permission to wiggle, shout, and clap. A chorus of “clap your hands” tickled the air, and I caught myself thinking: here, in this sunlit afternoon, childhood exists in pure form. The incandescent laughter and leaps from the little ones felt like fireworks—and beyond the stage, on the faces of parents, there was shared delight, sometimes surrender, always pride.
Now—let’s talk costumes. The oversized character heads may strike some as uncanny—the sort of shapes that Aussie cartoonish dreams dare to experiment with—but for the small children, these unfamiliar forms are not off-putting—they’re captivating. If anything, they become storybook characters come to life, slightly strange but told with love.
Of course, there are parents out there who confess that CoComelon sometimes pushes them to the brink of sanity—overstimulation, the earworm factor, the relentless repetition.
The theatre provides thoughtful touches for the youngest visitors: pram and buggy storage (foldable only, on a first-come basis), and reassuringly, babes under 12 months don’t even need a ticket—just a nudge of ID maybe.
All Singing, All Dancing – and Super Interactive
One of the real joys of CoComelon Live is how interactive it is. Kids are encouraged to sing, dance, and even shout out to their favourite characters. And it’s not just the little ones getting involved – plenty of parents were spotted boogying in the aisles too (no judgement here!).
“I thought I’d just be sitting through another kids’ show,” laughed dad James, 44, from Stafford. “But it was actually really fun – I was tapping my feet the whole time.”
The show lasts around an hour – just the right length to keep little attention spans happy – and the venue is family-friendly, with a buggy park, clean loos, and snacks on hand for when sugar levels dip.
The Verdict: Worth Every Penny
Whether you’re a die-hard CoComelon household or just dipping your toes into the world of JJ and friends, CoComelon Live is a fabulous treat for the summer holidays. It’s more than just a show – it’s a shared experience that kids and parents can enjoy together.
So, if you’ve got a little one at home who lights up when they hear “Wheels on the Bus,” this live show is a no-brainer.
Final Thought
CoComelon Live is more than a show – it’s a memory-maker. From the catchy tunes to the twinkling eyes of every child in the room, this is family fun at its finest. So grab your tickets, pack a snack, and get ready to sing your heart out. While tickets start at just £12, merchandise is expensive, prices start from £15. But we did pay £12.50 to meet JJ and Ms Appleberry and that was worth every penny to see the smile on our daughters face.
