Secret Cinema: Cha-cha back to the summer of 1963

For one night only, we cha-chaed our way back to the summer of 1963 to enjoy a night on vacation at Kellerman's, and we really did have the 'time of our lives.'

Secret Cinema has once again brought the iconic eighties movie Dirty Dancing to life in London, and we were first in the queue to spend a night with Johnny (Played by the late Patrick Swayze) and Baby (Played by Jennifer Grey).

Part of the fun of Secret Cinema is that the event takes place in an unknown location, so on arrival at the tube station, the staff from Kellerman's were there to meet and greet us and point us in the right direction.

We arrive at Kellerman's just in time for the talent competition and to watch Lisa hula away. Afterwards, we headed to Max's bar for a cocktail before being whisked off to the private staff quarters to witness some actual Dirty Dancing. Although sadly, Billy didn't ask us to help him carry a watermelon.

The set's attention to detail is outstanding, from Johnny's black Chevrolet down to games on the lawn. It really does feel like you are on holiday. You can go as far as having a dance lesson with Johnny. Yes, please...

But, the main event is watching the film, we put our blanket down and bought a bottle of fizz to enjoy. As the opening titles began, we waited in anticipation to see what would happen around us. For people who haven't experienced Secret Cinema before, actors perform iconic scenes from the movie while it is playing.

And the infamous Baby and Johnny lift in the closing scene had my spin tingling. I couldn't think of a better way to spend a summer's night.
